video reflection Module 4

The video "Midevial Help Desk" was hysterical.  This is how I feel when something new comes out. I don't know how to work it.  My way is to play with the new device until I have figured it out.  On the other hand I have a collegue at work that asks for help and has to be shown several time like the person in the video several times before she understands how to operate the new device.

The video " Piano stairs was funny to see people change just because the stairs made noise.  The people seemed to enjoy the stairs because of the "music" they made by walking up and down the stairs.  In America this would help decrease the weight gain if we could find something to entertain people as the stairs did in the video.

The last video reminded me of a writing prompt we wrote on in our class last week.  The prompt was to persuade the schools to allow cellphones in the classrooms.  As I read these prompts written by my students, I realized that the kids that have cellphones now don't use them just as phones, but also as a way to get information.  The video reminded me of this as I watched it.  The video also remined that my 4 year old can do a lot more technology related activities then I can. She is learning through trail and error.  I need to follow in her steps.

  1. I can relate to the 4 year old doing amazing things with technology! Although my children are older,I often ask them to help me with technology issues. If they don't know, they can usually figure it out. Watching the piano stairs made me think that if we could find a way to make laundry fun, we would have it made! What if the dryer diplayed a laser light show as it tumbled? Or what if the washer had little boats or rubber duckies that float by from time to time? Just a thought...
